Thursday, November 19, 2015: Next stop – Columbia, Missouri. No word describes this drive better than WINDY. Driving a van that’s nearly 9′ tall in severe wind gusts with occasional driving rain was challenging; the up side of this is that it makes driving in clear weather seem like a piece of cake . The first time we stopped in the midst of these wind gusts we found our TV antenna bent in half from the wind and a fan cover on the roof sucked open, but no permanent damage.

We stopped in Columbia to visit our friend Don. We had dinner at Flat Branch, a pretty nice brew pub. The next day, Don took us on a driving tour of Columbia, a very nice small city that’s home to the University of Missouri.
We had lunch at Les Bourgeois Vineyards in Rocheport, on banks of the Missouri river – it was cloudy when we were there, but it’s a gorgeous site. The food was surprisingly good for the type of place that often just cashes in on the location.
We will be following you! Enjoy!
