Saturday, November 21, 2015: We started our day in Bella Vista, Arkansas. [Reader should insert the Arkansas joke of choice here.] Seriously though, set in the Ozark Mountains, the Bella Vista area is very scenic. We made a quick stop at the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel, younger sibling to the highly renowned Thorncrown Chapel, near Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Thursday, November 19, 2015: Next stop – Columbia, Missouri. No word describes this drive better than WINDY. Driving a van that’s nearly 9′ tall in severe wind gusts with occasional driving rain was challenging; the up side of this is that it makes driving in clear weather seem like a piece of cake . The first time we stopped in the midst of these wind gusts we found our TV antenna bent in half from the wind and a fan cover on the roof sucked open, but no permanent damage.

Tuesday, November 18, 2015: In accordance with the rules of proper aimless adventure, we began our journey to Mexico by driving northeast. After driving for about 3 hours in the rain, encountering a bull elk along the way, we arrived at Boulder Lodge, about 20 miles east of Hayward, Wisconsin, in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest.

Tuesday, November 17, 2015, 3 pm. Our adventure has commenced. We finished packing and left the comfort and security of Pine Springs, Minnesota in our new house:

We hope you’ll follow along.
